The Tuscaloosa County Bar Association Quarterly Meeting will be held on October 6, 2016 from Noon-1:00 p.m. at The Levee. 

Pre-registration is required by September 27.  No refunds or credits can be given after this time. 

Our guest speaker will be Jim Blacksher. Will will apply for 1 hour of CLE Credit from the Alabama State Bar.

   Jim and Ed Still, accompanied by the NAACP LDF and the pro bono operations of Crowell & Moring and Strook Strook & Lavan, filed an action against the State of Alabama under Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act, seeking to declare that Alabama’s system of electing appellate judges at large results in dilution of African-American representation. Below is a link to  a copy of the Complaint. He will speak about this lawsuit and the judicial elections system
